About Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling...

The Beaver Valley Tutoring Service has been helping students improve in school since 1988, and the expanded Beaver Valley Tutoring & Counseling Service since 1993 when Ms. Podnar received a Master of Arts degree in Professional Psychology and began offering counseling services as well as tutoring.

The Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service is equipped to meet the needs of students at any grade level and in any subject. Parents and/or students who need help can call Janet at 724-847-1780. Ms. Podnar will match the student's need with one of the qualified, independent tutors listed with the service. Whether it's a second  grader having reading difficulties, or a 12th grader needing help in Calculus, the Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service probably has a teacher who can help! Parents can request a tutor for one or more hours per week, and some of the tutors will come to the children's home, if desired. The service has teachers throughout Beaver Valley, and tries to match each students with a tutor in their area.

Any parent who wishes to have help in diagnosing where their child needs help in school can request testing in reading, math, spelling, or English at an evaluation session at the Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service, located at 2032 Mercer Road, New Brighton. Although optional, the evaluation is helpful in pinpointing problem areas and helping the tutor address the specific needs of each student.

If a family, child, adult, or couple is in need of counseling services for any of life's problems, the Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service can also help with counseling services. Ms. Podnar offers caring counseling at reasonable rates. Marriage, family, or individual counseling is available. The same number, 724-847-1780, can be called to request either tutoring or counseling services, or for questions or information.

Meet Janet Podnar:

The owner of the Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service is Ms. Janet Podnar. She is a veteran school teacher with 32 years of teaching experience, and a counselor with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Psychology. In addition to managing a business, Ms. Podnar still does some tutoring herself (along with other teachers), and is the resident counselor for the Beaver Valley Tutoring & Counseling Service.
